Aims & objectives

Emergency Relief Fund is a charitable organisation run purely by volunteers. We collect funds specifically for use in countries hit by disasters of any kind, in particular, natural disasters such as hurricane, earthquake, cyclone, tsunami etc. The monies received from fundraising are distributed to the affected areas through well known international charities, relief organisations, NGOs and the local government teams working in the area. For example, the cyclone in Burma, floods in Bangladesh, the earthquake in Pakistan, Kashmir and India, hurricane Katrina, Asian Tsunami, drought in African countries, recent earthquake in China etc. The funds provided are used for immediate and urgent relief in the short term and for rehabilitation of the many displaced by the catastrophes in the longer term.

  • The basic aim is to organise fundraising for relief operations to carry on rehabilitation measures in times of calamities and disasters so as to mitigate human sufferings, alleviate distress and losses arising out of calamities such as floods, cyclones, fires, earthquakes, droughts, famines, wars, hostilities, riots, epidemics and other miseries affecting people in any part of the world.

  • To distribute the funds raised to construct, re-construct repair and make hospitable dwellings and structures for those in need.

  • To distribute the funds raised to established welfare projects and to assist, affiliate and establish connections with other institutions having similar objects and/or help them in providing aid to the victims.

  • To incur expenses including educational scholarships, establishing educational institutions, health care centres, community centres, medical assistance, assistance for humanitarian work, project financing and assistance aimed at humanitarian and social uplift as well as other welfare activities to improve the quality of life.

  • To receive donations online in response to the appeals published in media and websites for funds to afford relief and to make disbursements from the donations received.

  • Last but not the least, our aim is to give an immediate/short term help to people in distress regardless of their race, colour, nationality, religion or political beliefs.
